Christmas Symmetry
Sometime Florence found that everything disappeared so she had to re do it several times. She had to practice, be patient and persevere.
Hunter found it easy using the curved line. He double tapped it and moved it around to adjust it nicely.
Some of us got onto drawing our own 3d shapes. Pixie copied the 2D shape and pasted it, then she moved one of them behind it and connected it using straight lines.

Who Owns That Image?
The best way to get an image that is in the public domain is to use the ‘search the web’ option in Google Drawings or the Explore Tool in Slides and Docs.

Room 18's Top Touchpad Tip's
- Room 18 practiced using two hands to drag and drop - one stays still and presses down while the other moves across the touchpad
- We also learned that the slides on our class site sometimes have rewindable resources on them, like videos that we can watch
- We also checked we all knew the difference between a one and two finger click
- We decided as a class the expectations for watching a video - we will have sound low / use earphones and if you don't have some... put some on your Christmas list!

Investigating Polygons !
On Friday we learnt some new vocabulary relating to different 2D shapes.
We found it easy to make regular and irregular polygons using elastics within our group, when the elastic didn't break! We had to all work together.
We found it hard to remember what the different irregular shapes were called: there is no such thing as an irregular square! Irregular quadrilateral. That was a new term as well. We remember quad being four like a quadbike with 4 wheels and lateral means lines.
In our groups we had to use the photos to create a digital book using book creator to display our regular and irregular polygons and then label them.
Miss H managed to download the digital book as a pdf.

Introducing The Amazing Room 18!
We are learning to introduce ourselves on our class blog.
We learned how to replace an image with a photo we took with our camera:
- click the image on the slide
- choose 'replace image'
- choose 'camera'
- take your photo and insert
We learnt how to replace an image using the "search the web"
Some things we found easy was using explore to find a picture from internet and then replacing it into our slide. We found writing about why we like the class easy because we have done lots of writing on our chromebooks.
Some things we found challenging was some of the chromebooks had issues with the camera. Meryn from MKL helped us and then it was all good. Some of us spent too long trying to find just the right picture. Some of us moved the text box, or deleted it and we had to learn how to add a text box or move it back onto the slide.
